Among the annual activities are our workshops, this year we focus on one theme however we have workshops throughout the year on Songwriting & Performance, Artist Development, Packaging your brand for live music export and more.
Madaraja Workshop
Madaraja means “bridges.” Our flagship workshop, “Madaraja” is a study and sharing of musical experiences “across generations and genres.” On the festival’s first day, we gather together industry experts, veterans and younger musicians, both male and female and workshop around what that “crossing” means and what forms it can take.

Nurturing young talent is a core value, so this year we have partnered with Toto Janjaz to facilitate activities and opportunities for children during OMF. Toto Janjaz is an initiative dedicated to elevating educational and recreational content for children aged 6 to 12, promoting skill development and a growth mindset in a safe and fun environment.
The Fusion Music Incubator is a program that equips emerging musicians, aged 18-35, with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the world of live music performance. Participants will showcase their newfound skills and talents at the Ongala Music Festival 2023. Visit our website HERE.

Not only these, but we’ll have STYLE CORNER once more anchoring the market, for your Festival Looks on the spot, be it hair, sparkle or bangle - stylized t-shirts, nails, or heena, you’ll be taken care of OMF style.
Re-use, Re-cycle, Repurpose!
Building upon our previous efforts, we continue to champion the principles of "Re-use, Re-cycle, Repurpose!"
Last year, our art department embarked on a mission to transform discarded materials into vibrant set and spatial design elements and we again have installation based upcycled materials at heart.
We seek to inspire others to follow suit and embrace sustainability, not just as a concept but as a tangible and transformative practice and will continue to show the world that by repurposing and recycling, we can turn the tide on waste and create something extraordinary out of the discarded. Our journey has been a testament to the power of creativity, environmental stewardship, and the belief that every piece of material can find a new purpose in the grand mosaic of life.

Cost
"There is even a suburb of Dar es Salaam called Sinza Kwa Remmy, named after the musician, when he moved there in the 1980s." - BBC News Africa
But it’s more than that.
“Kwa Remmy” is a spirit, it’s a movement, it’s philosophy and it’s a way of life. And it’s both exactly where you ARE, and EVERYWHERE at the same time.
We carry the spirit of Dr. Remmy with us where ever we go. Together in joy, together in health, together in music and together in spirit.
Together.
